Dementia Action Week, organized by the Alzheimer's Society, is a significant event aimed at raising awareness and encouraging action to support individuals affected by dementia. In 2025, this event is scheduled from May 19 to 25. Bromson Hill Nursing Home is proud to participate in this initiative by organizing a series of events and activities designed to engage residents, families, and the local community. Throughout the week, Bromson Hill will host educational workshops focusing on understanding dementia, effective communication strategies, and ways to support individuals living with the condition. These sessions aim to provide valuable insights for both staff and family members, fostering a more supportive environment for residents. Recognizing the importance of community involvement, Bromson Hill plans to collaborate with local organizations to host events that promote dementia awareness. These may include memory cafés, where residents and community members can share experiences and support each other, and information booths in local community centers to disseminate resources about dementia care. Art and music therapy sessions will be organized to provide residents with creative outlets for expression. These therapies have been shown to improve mood and cognitive function in individuals with dementia. Residents will have the opportunity to participate in painting, crafting, and musical activities tailored to their interests and abilities.
